Trash The Dress: 2nd Preview

I've had many requests for some more "Trash The Dress" photos, so folks... it's time for another teeny, tiny preview. However, Ben (www.BenjaminTrevor.com) and I have decided that you need to wait just a little while longer for some seriously trashy photos. :) Until then, let this one tide you over...

Another big THANK YOU to the following people: (We couldn't have done it without them!!)

  • Paul Gibson at Centro Models
  • Mr. and Mrs. Ted and Shannon Quinn. Our FABO models for the day. Complete and total professionals that were a joy to work with!
  • Savvi Formalwear donated our amazing tuxedo.
  • Embrassei Moi all but donated our veil and dress.
  • Kelly at The Crimson Petal
  • Jayme Datillo was our hair and makeup girl.
  • Tyler Burrus is my amazing assistant.
  • Mike Edmondson brought us the 1934 vintage Ford Truck.
I also want to thank Ben for asking me to be a part of this amazing project. It was a total and complete dream!!

Easter Photos: Abbie Takes Pictures Saint Louis Wedding Family Photographer

This past Friday I held my First Annual Easter/Spring Photo Shoot! I had several people call and ask, "Are you doing Easter Bunny photooooos?". My answer was "Oh, dear! No way!". However, the more I thought about it, the more I knew I could do BETTER than those "Old School"/traditional Easter photos. After a few phone calls, and creating a Facebook event to spread the word, I had several people come and join the fun!

I had planned it for Saturday, but by Tuesday - we knew it was going to be rainy and gloomy that day. After a few phone calls (and a Facebook Event edit!), we were able to move the photo shoots up a day... which ended up being a FANTASTIC choice!

Tyler (Assistant Extraordinaire) and I stayed for a few hours in the park, and really enjoyed ourselves. The weather was warm and sunny, and we had the perfect little spot to set up. The only downside was all the MUD we had to trudge through to get to our perfect spot. :)

First on the scene was The Jurotich Gang. Kelly is a dear friend of mine. (WE have some really big news to announce soon!). Anyway... I digress...

The boys and I had quite a good time together. I simply adore these kids...

This photo was not as easy as it looks... :) It really sums up the spirit if Kelly and Adam's kiddos. They are truly fun and lively!

You'll have to ask me how I tricked them into this great photo... :)

Next we had Mattie arrive. When she first got there, she had one agenda... and that was her own. After a few chocolate bribes, and playing a few games of "put the eggs in the basket", I was really able to capture this sweet girl's personality. She's inquisitive and loving, just like every 18 month old girl should be.

Then we had sweet Eleanore! She was in such a good mood, and couldn't stop giggling. She investigated the eggs, and each basket. She even ROCKED a gorgeous Easter Bonnet, which made for one of my favorite shots of the day.

Last, but not least, one of my best friends came out with her two lovely kiddos, Gage and Zoe. We took so many photos, that I'm not done proofing them all! It's a good thing that my friends love me as much as they do... sometimes their photos take a back burner. (Kayte... I promise you'll have them sooooon!)

Sneak Peek: Kristina Senior Session

I met Kristina (and her best friend Jenna) while we were all getting our nails done a few months ago. She was talking about how horrible her senior photos were (they made her pose with a vase with a single flower in it... EEEEK!), and I couldn't keep my mouth shut. :) I gave her my card, and we were Facebook friends a few hours after that.

Needless to say, this girl is a natural. We had a great time today, and she really shined. Here's a little nibblet to tide you over until I'm finished with all of her images. (There are so many to pick from!)

Trash The Dress = Perfection

Have you ever had one of those days where everything just came together perfectly?? Yesterday was one of those days for me. I would say that it was one of the best days I've ever had as a photographer. Every single element (from the models, to the vintage truck, to the rain breaking at just the right time throughout the day) came together in a way that only happens to the luckiest of people. I'll be the first one to admit that I really do have the best job in the entire world, and yesterday just proved it to me even more.

It all started when my dear friend Ben (www.BenjaminTrevor.com) called me really late at night with this brilliant idea. He said, "I have a Trash The Dress idea". That was all it took. The wheels started spinning the instant he picked up his phone to call me. It turns out that Ben and I make a pretty good team. :)

Here's a rundown of all the amazing people that played major roles in yesterday's shoot:

  • Paul Gibson at Centro Models led us to our models (see below!)
  • Mr. and Mrs. Ted and Shannon Quinn. Our FABO models for the day. Complete and total professionals that were a joy to work with!
  • Savvi Formalwear donated our amazing tuxedo.
  • Embrassei Moi all but donated our veil and dress... that fit Shannon absolutely perfectly.
  • Kelly at The Crimson Petal made the bouquet that is featured throughout the shoot.
  • Jayme Datillo was our hair and makeup girl. Find her on Facebook. Her work is top of the line.
  • Tyler Burrus is my amazing assistant.
  • Mike Edmondson brought us the 1934 vintage Ford Truck. Not only did he stay the entire time, but he also helped out with some of our "special effects" that Ben came up with.
I promise to give more details on all of our team players, but in the mean time I'd like to share a little teaser of what's to come. It looks like their truck broke down on the side of the road... I wonder who is going to fix it???? Hmmmm... I bet you can't guess, can you? :)

Preview: Mr. and Mrs. Brian and Mallory Landry

Yesterday was our kick-off wedding for 2010! We woke up to rainy, cloudy, and very overcast day. To most people, that means TRAUMA on your wedding day. But to us it equals FUN and CREATIVITY!

Brian and Mal proved one thing yesterday: Rain on your wedding day does mean GOOD LUCK!! Here's a little preview of more to come. A HUGE congrats goes out to Mallory, Brian, and their fun and funky bridal party!

Amanda & Casey: Preview

Amanda and Casey are a great couple that are such a hoot! We went on their engagement shoot yesterday, and had a total blast. I was blessed enough to have Tyler (my apprentice/assistant) there, but also invited Katy Corea and Ben Brammeier (fellow St. Louis Photographers) along to have a "shoot out".

Amanda and Casey were totally open to the idea, and did a great job as our "guinea pigs". We tried out several new locations, and soon came to realize that even though the sun was shining, it was still quite chilly!! In the mix of the afternoon, Ben got this great shot of my awesome bridal couple and myself.

Keep your eyes peeled for their Facebook Preview shots...

A big thanks to Tyler (Apprentice Extraordinaire), Katy Corea (www.KCoreaPhotography.com) and Ben Brammeier (www.BenjaminTrevor.com). I'm so lucky to have you guys to work, learn, and shoot with!!
